A fix is available and has been applied in specific Linux kernel commits. Users should update to a fixed kernel version that includes these patches to remediate the vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel Bluetooth hci_codec component involves improper validation of the vendor codec count length. The issue arises because the parser for Read Local Supported Codecs consumes the variable-sized standard codec array before validating the vendor codec count byte. This can lead to reading beyond the buffer if the controller reply ends immediately after the standard codec array.
