A fix is available in the Linux kernel as identified by the fixed commit hashes. Users should update to a kernel version that includes these commits to resolve the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's stmmac network driver causes truncation of the TCP segmentation offload (TSO) header length due to storing the header length in an 8-bit unsigned integer. This leads to incorrect handling of TCP over IPv6 packets with large headers containing sticky destination or hop-by-hop options. The issue is fixed by widening the header length variable to an unsigned int to properly accommodate header sizes up to the hardware limit.
