AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been applied in specific commits identified by their hashes. Users should update to a fixed version of the Linux kernel that includes these commits to remediate the issue. Since this is a kernel-level fix, applying the official kernel update is the recommended mitigation.

Description

A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel's s390/ipl component was fixed. The issue occurs when no re-IPL parameter block is provided during certain IPL types, causing an unconditional dereference of a NULL pointer. This leads the stand-alone dumper to enter a disabled wait state after completing the dump. The fix explicitly stores zero values for the IPL parameter block address and checksum when no re-IPL parameter block is available, preserving intended behavior for valid blocks.
