AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been applied in multiple commits identified by their hashes. Users should update their Linux kernel to a fixed version that includes these patches. Since this is a kernel-level issue, applying the official fix is the recommended mitigation.

Description

A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's s390/cio subsystem in version 4.18. The issue occurs when the channel path registry entry for a CHPID is removed while the subchannel's PMCW still references that CHPID, causing a function to return NULL and leading to a NULL pointer dereference. The fix adds a missing NULL check before dereferencing the pointer.
