A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this issue by adjusting the quiescing behavior during error handling. Users should apply the official kernel update containing this fix once available. Patch status is not explicitly confirmed in the provided data; therefore, check the vendor or Linux kernel advisory for the current remediation guidance.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI UFS core was resolved that involved internal commands becoming non-dispatchable during error handling, causing a deadlock. The issue arose because internal commands were dispatched on a pseudo SCSI device queue that was quiesced along with regular logical units, leading to an unrecoverable circular wait. The fix ensures that while logical units remain quiesced during error recovery, the pseudo device queue for internal commands is unquiesced to keep those commands dispatchable, preventing deadlock.
