Description
CVE-2026-98487 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's network bridge multicast database (mdb) handling. The flaw occurs when the kernel walks port groups and deletes entries, causing a stale pointer dereference. This can lead to a kernel memory corruption detected by KASAN during multicast database dumps. The issue is fixed by resetting the cursor after deletions to avoid referencing freed memory.
