AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel source code revisions identified by commits 780ad8e4df9f767806587d33b42372acf8fbe5e6, 87c2f8ce1100ccbbc40bfab067741edbd1f0ef02, 59aa1f8c95941e623891d46c805e8fb1257b5a3d, and 1e04611d3735543bd80a67d9d13dc13f503746fb. Users and maintainers should update to a fixed kernel version containing these commits to remediate the issue.

Description

A runtime power management (PM) reference leak was fixed in the Linux kernel's nouveau driver in the function nouveau_connector_detect(). If the function nvif_outp_edid_get() fails, the runtime PM reference was not properly released, causing the device to remain powered on unnecessarily until the next successful detection. This issue has been corrected by balancing the runtime PM references on all exit paths.
