AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this vulnerability. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this patch. Since this is a kernel-level fix, upgrading to a patched kernel version is the recommended remediation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's GPIO character device interface could cause kernel stack data to leak to user-space in an error path. This occurs when the function gpio_desc_to_lineinfo() fails to acquire a GPIO chip guard and returns early without zeroing a data structure passed to user-space. The issue has been resolved by ensuring the structure is zeroed before use and by propagating error codes properly.
