AI-suggested
A fix is available and has been applied in multiple Linux kernel commits. The patch enforces exact length validation on the SEG6_ATTR_DST attribute, rejecting malformed messages. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes. No additional mitigation is required once patched.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's IPv6 Segment Routing (SR) implementation allows an out-of-bounds read of kernel memory due to improper validation of the SEG6_ATTR_DST attribute length. This can lead to leakage of uninitialized kernel heap memory to userspace. The issue is fixed by enforcing exact attribute length validation.
