AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been applied in multiple Linux kernel commits. Users running Linux kernel version 5.16 on MIPS32 architectures should update to a fixed version containing the listed commits to remediate this issue. Since this is a kernel-level fix, applying the official kernel update is the recommended mitigation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel affecting the Berkeley Packet Filter (BPF) on MIPS32 architecture was fixed. The issue involved incorrect instruction emission causing invalid comparison results when using immediate operands in certain jump instructions. This flaw was corrected by changing the instruction to use the proper immediate form. The vulnerability was identified through testing on MIPS32r1 emulated by QEMU.
