AI-suggested

The vulnerability has been fixed in the Linux kernel by rejecting non-negative offsets in stack_slot_obj_get_spi(). Users should update to the fixed kernel versions identified by commits 89a7241fc7ecc1b5e47c3f071081e314523b8d9d and 79a9172f3ab4ad8392c5e5c8944b9b7710ade620. No additional mitigation is required once the patch is applied.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem allows non-negative offsets in stack_slot_obj_get_spi(), which can cause incorrect validation of pointers to stack memory. This flaw permits a pointer to the current frame pointer (fp+0) to be validated against an iterator stored at a different stack location (fp-8), potentially allowing a kernel function to interpret memory outside the intended BPF stack region as iterator state. The issue has been fixed by rejecting non-negative offsets before converting them to stack pointer indices.
