AI-suggested

This vulnerability has been fixed in Linux kernel versions 6.12.112, 6.15, and later. Users should upgrade to these or newer versions to resolve the issue. No additional mitigation steps are required as the fix addresses the root cause.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's fbnic network driver was fixed by setting the AW_FLUSH_MODE bit alongside AW_FLUSH when flushing the firmware mailbox. Previously, clearing the BME bit halted device writes but left staged requests in the pipeline, causing the flush to never complete. The fix ensures staged writes drain properly without enabling writes to the host prematurely. The read path is unaffected. This issue affects certain Linux kernel versions prior to 6.12.112, 6.15, and 6.14.7.
