AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel versions identified by commits faff4c8ff3dbec6d71b89dd281a0d17c4478fa44 and 94c43c7df46433ed4d1e18f13770b019ba977bd8. Users should update to these fixed versions or later to remediate the issue. Since this is a kernel-level fix, applying the official kernel update is the recommended mitigation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's KVM s390 subsystem related to the _gaccess_shadow_fault() function has been fixed. The issue involved a scenario where a nested guest memory page being shadowed might not be present in the parent guest's gmap, causing dat_entry_walk() to fail and erroneously propagate an error to userspace. The fix involves manually linking the nested guest memory if the mapping was missing.
