AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users should update to the fixed kernel version or apply the corresponding patch to avoid the NULL pointer dereference crash. No additional mitigation steps are required as the issue is resolved by the patch.

Description

A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ade9000 ADC driver was fixed. The issue occurs during clkout registration when a NULL register address is passed, causing a crash if the ADE9000 is configured as a clock provider with an external input clock. The fix changes the clock registration to use a 1:1 fixed-factor clock that does not require register access, preventing the crash. This does not affect configurations using the internal clock.
