A fix has been applied to the Linux kernel to return early when the requested event enable state matches the current state, preventing the runtime PM usage count underflow. Users should update to the fixed kernel version once available. Patch status is not explicitly confirmed in the provided data; check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's IIO core for the kxcjk-1013 accelerometer driver allowed duplicate disable event requests to cause a runtime PM usage count underflow. This occurs because repeated disable requests improperly drop runtime PM references that were not acquired, leading to a warning. The issue has been resolved by returning early when the requested state matches the current event enable state.
