A fix is available and has been applied in Linux kernel versions identified by the provided commit hashes. Users and administrators should update to these fixed versions to eliminate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation is required as the patch zeroes padding bytes and ensures proper buffer allocation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's cw1200 WiFi driver allows out-of-bounds (OOB) reads during TX padding, leaking up to 511 bytes of kernel heap data to the device. This occurs because the driver sends padded data from the frame buffer without reserving space for padding, exposing stale memory. The issue is fixed by correctly computing padding, ensuring tailroom, and zeroing padding bytes before transfer.
