AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a fixed kernel version that includes the patches identified by commits f771f96557a4d953a7e4d045870547271e36e819, 9806a748f9ab223b733624367b6ddda77fb9450e, 84df222de86eabed543361025ed54ce838c0b573, or 3d6ba6be9bef13edcd4ad74f7cfdd0c34db4d2bc. No additional mitigation is required once updated.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel Bluetooth subsystem (btintel_pcie) allows a user-space process with HCI_CHANNEL_USER access to inject oversized transmit packets, causing a buffer overflow in the send_frame() function. This occurs because the function copies data into a fixed-size 4096-byte DMA buffer without properly rejecting packets that exceed the buffer size minus the PCIe header length. The issue has been fixed by rejecting packets larger than the allowed size on entry.
