AI-suggested
The vulnerability has been fixed in the Linux kernel by fully zero-initializing the control packet before sending. Users and administrators should apply the official patches or upgrade to a fixed kernel version containing the referenced commits. Since this is a kernel-level issue, updating the kernel is the recommended remediation.
Description
CVE-2026-98755 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's tty vcc component where a control packet structure was not fully zero-initialized before use. This partial initialization could lead to leakage of kernel stack data to a peer via the LDC communication channel. The issue affects Linux kernel version 4.14 and has been fixed in several subsequent commits.
