A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel commits 8fa813b7fd1eccbed13e126166cf764f1f11a7d3 and 0b1eebd359685dd681f6e0df5540a5bb985a27bf. Users should update to a Linux kernel version including these commits to remediate the issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMD display driver (drm/amd/display) related to Display Power Management Signaling (DPMS) has been fixed. The issue involved improper handling of the optional stream->sink pointer, which could be null and was dereferenced without checking. The fix replaces usage of stream->sink->link with stream->link, adds assertions for USB4 bandwidth allocation, and improves resource access consistency.
