AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in multiple Linux kernel commits. Users and administrators should update to a Linux kernel version that includes the fix identified by the commits 9907db2b8e7ba70b442bb9dec86526a6511fac62, 4835dbcde5cc3ae37e0d0796052056b35fcae8bf, 7c24a4e87e219072e5e106f6791146cbf3b056b3, and 0f8e2b2045355a0ee2008125e573435504b13cee. No additional mitigation steps are required once patched.

Description

A memory leak vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's vsock component, specifically in the vmci_transport_recv_dgram_cb() function. The issue occurs during the closure of a datagram socket where packets are moved improperly between the socket's backlog and receive queue, causing memory to not be freed. This leak was confirmed by a syzkaller report and has been addressed by adding receive queue cleanup in the socket destructor.
