Description
CVE-2026-98995 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel affecting version 6.17. It involves improper resetting of the old parent's ->overmount pointer in the mnt_change_mountpoint() function, which can lead to use-after-free (UAF) conditions. This occurs when mounts are moved and the old parent's ->overmount pointer is left dangling, potentially allowing an attacker with local privileges to exploit this flaw.
