AI-suggested

A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel by validating the ITT reflected in Reject PDUs to ensure it corresponds to an active in-flight task. Users should update to a kernel version that includes this fix. Since no vendor advisory or patch links are provided, verify the kernel version and apply official patches or updates from the Linux distribution maintainers to remediate this issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI subsystem (libiscsi) allows improper validation of the Initiator Task Tag (ITT) reflected in a Reject Protocol Data Unit (PDU). This flaw can cause in-flight SCSI commands to be incorrectly completed as successful without actual data transfer, and may trigger kernel warnings or faults. The issue arises because the ITT extracted from the Reject PDU is not properly validated against active tasks, leading to potential task mismanagement and kernel instability.
