AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this issue. Users should apply the official kernel update that includes this correction. Since this is not a cloud service, manual patching is required. Patch status is not explicitly confirmed in the input; users should consult the vendor advisory or kernel update notes for the fixed version.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ring-buffer subsystem caused false warnings in the ring_buffer_map_get_reader() function when the mmap reader caught up with a writer still committing events. This was due to improper handling of a NULL return value from rb_get_reader_page(), which was mistakenly treated as an error. The issue has been fixed by correctly handling the NULL case without warning and removing redundant checks.
