A fix is available that assigns netdev_ops before the PHY attach in the au1000 driver, preventing the NULL pointer dereference crash. Users should update to a patched kernel version that includes this fix. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's au1000 network driver causes a crash due to a NULL pointer dereference when CONFIG_NET_SHAPER is enabled. The issue arises because the network device operations (netdev_ops) are not assigned before the PHY attach process, leading to a crash during probing. This has been fixed by moving the assignment of netdev_ops before the PHY attach, similar to a previous fix in the emac driver.
