AI-suggested
A fix is available that adds explicit checks and locking to prevent multiple additions of the same channel connection in the Bluetooth L2CAP code. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this patch. The affected versions listed should be upgraded to patched releases. No additional mitigations are specified beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A race condition vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth L2CAP implementation where the function __l2cap_chan_add can be called multiple times on the same channel connection due to a time-of-check-to-time-of-use (TOCTOU) issue. This violates the assumption that a channel is linked to a connection at most once, potentially leading to inconsistent channel state and memory corruption. The flaw arises from insufficient locking around channel state changes during concurrent operations. The vulnerability has been addressed by adding explicit checks and locks to enforce the invariant and prevent multiple additions of the same channel connection.
