A fix has been implemented that postpones the startup of printk console printing kthreads until after all architecture initialization calls complete. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes this fix once available. No other mitigation actions are indicated.
Description
A Linux kernel vulnerability related to early startup of printk console printing kernel threads (kthreads) has been resolved. The issue caused SMP systems to hang during boot due to interference from these kthreads asynchronously enabling/disabling interrupts early in the boot process. The fix involves postponing the startup of these kthreads until after all architecture-specific initialization calls have completed, preventing the boot hang on affected hardware platforms.
