A fix is available and has been applied in specific Linux kernel commits (aa118c8f61d59387961d58ffae831c5259a9f222, 862d9268f40a6e10cef24eb226e738fb69ce8aa7, 22c82f33ff0b68d37041adf1dea5533a5863cd31). Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes to remediate the vulnerability.

Description

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA line6 driver was fixed by clearing a stale pointer on capture buffer release. The issue involved a slab-use-after-free read in submit_audio_out_urb() when generating an impulse test signal, caused by not clearing the prev_fbuf pointer after freeing the capture buffer. This could lead to dereferencing freed memory during playback startup.
