Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-69077 describes an unauthorized cross-project job manipulation vulnerability in Apache Kylin. The flaw allows an attacker to manipulate jobs across projects without proper authorization. The vulnerability affects Apache Kylin versions starting from 4 through 5.0.4. The issue mainly impacts deployments where Kylin services are exposed to public networks, a scenario that is not typical for most users. The vendor has addressed this vulnerability in version 5.0.5.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability enables unauthorized manipulation of jobs across projects in affected Apache Kylin instances. This could lead to unauthorized job control or interference in multi-project environments. The impact is significant primarily for Kylin services exposed to public networks. In-house deployments, which are the majority, are mostly not affected.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade Apache Kylin to version 5.0.5, which contains the fix for this vulnerability. No other mitigation steps are indicated. Since this is not a cloud service, remediation depends on user action to upgrade.
