Description

FFmpeg versions 2.1 through 8.1.2 contain a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the VobSub subtitle demuxer. This flaw arises when a malicious .sub/.idx subtitle file declares more distinct stream IDs than the fixed-size array can handle, leading to out-of-bounds writes. Exploiting this vulnerability may allow attackers to corrupt adjacent heap memory and potentially achieve arbitrary code execution in applications using the affected demuxer.
