AI-suggested

A patch is available in version 1.31.0_11 that fixes this vulnerability. Users should upgrade to this version or later. As a workaround, keep ReadWriteLock paths in directories writable only by trusted users to prevent attackers from planting malicious symlinks.

Description

The ReadWriteLock and AsyncReadWriteLock classes in the affected software resolve lock file paths by following symlinks, which allows a local attacker with write access to the lock directory to manipulate the locking mechanism. This can cause the victim process to create or write files at unintended locations, break mutual exclusion between processes, or cause database locking conflicts. The issue affects versions from 1.31.0_9 up to but not including 1.31.0_11 and has been fixed in version 1.31.0_11.
