Source: GCVE Database
Product: shopper/framework

Description

A missing authorization vulnerability exists in the Shopper framework's CollectionProducts component, allowing any authenticated admin-panel user with only browse_collections permission to remove products from any collection. Both individual and bulk product removal actions lack proper authorization checks, and the collection ID is mutable in the Livewire payload, enabling unauthorized detachment of products. The vulnerability has a high severity score of 8.1 (CVSS 3.1).

Technical Analysis

The Shopper framework's CollectionProducts Livewire component lacks authorization controls on product removal actions. Specifically, the per-record delete action and the bulk delete action do not include an authorization chain, allowing any authenticated admin-panel user, including those with only browse_collections permission, to detach products from any collection. Additionally, the public Collection property is mutable without locking, enabling manipulation of the collection ID in the Livewire payload. This results in unauthorized modification of collections by detaching products without proper permissions.

Potential Impact

An attacker with any authenticated admin-panel session, even with minimal permissions (browse_collections only), can remove individual or multiple products from any collection in the database. This leads to unauthorized integrity impact (product removals) and availability impact (bulk removal of products), but does not affect confidentiality. The vulnerability is rated high severity with a CVSS score of 8.1.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available for this vulnerability. It is recommended to apply the official fix that adds proper authorization checks to the product removal actions in the CollectionProducts component and locks the collection property to prevent unauthorized mutation. Until patched, restrict admin-panel access to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious product removal activity.
