One finding involved a hidden “code-of-the-day” authentication mechanism that could be abused to bypass the controller’s standard authentication controls. Successful exploitation could enable an attacker to inject code and potentially disrupt refrigeration operations.
Team82 disclosed the findings to Danfoss, and the vulnerabilities were addressed in a subsequent firmware release.
