AI-suggested
Users should upgrade gdown to version 6.0.0 or later, which contains the fix for this path traversal vulnerability. Applying this official fix fully mitigates the issue.
Description
gdown versions from 5.2.0 up to but not including 6.0.0 are vulnerable to a path traversal flaw in the extractall function. This flaw allows crafted ZIP or TAR archives to write files outside the intended extraction directory, potentially enabling arbitrary file overwrite and remote code execution. The issue is fixed in version 6.0.0.
