Since the vulnerability requires physical access to the robot's network interfaces, restricting physical access to the device is a primary mitigation. Network segmentation or additional authentication mechanisms on the robot's network interfaces should be implemented when possible. Monitor vendor advisories for any forthcoming official fixes or updates.
Description
Ghost Robotics Vision 60 version 0.27.2 has a vulnerability involving its physical network interfaces, including three RJ45 connectors and a USB Type-C port. The robot's internal router assigns IP addresses automatically to any device physically connected, without requiring authentication. This allows an attacker to connect a rogue WiFi access point to the robot's network and gain unauthorized access. The robot runs ROS 2, which by default does not enforce authentication, enabling the attacker to monitor all data transmitted within the robot's network.
