Description

A vulnerability in GStreamer Editing Services (gst-editing-services) allows a crafted project file to embed arbitrary GStreamer pipeline descriptions as effect definitions. When such a file is loaded by an editing application, media player, or file-manager thumbnailing service using GStreamer autoplugging, it parses and instantiates the pipeline without restrictions. This can lead to reading or writing arbitrary local files, outbound network requests to attacker-controlled servers, application crashes, and potentially code execution under certain conditions.
