Until a fix is available, restrict access to the affected IBM Storage Scale versions and monitor for suspicious URL requests containing directory traversal patterns. Apply principle of least privilege to limit attacker capabilities.

Description

IBM Storage Scale versions 5.2.3.0 through 5.2.3.9 and 6.0.1.0 contain a directory traversal vulnerability. A remote attacker with low privileges can send specially crafted URL requests with "dot dot" sequences to access arbitrary files on the system. This vulnerability allows unauthorized reading of sensitive files but does not impact integrity or availability.
