A security update is available and should be applied. Red Hat has released expat version 2.5.0-6.el8_10 which fixes these vulnerabilities. Users should update affected systems to this version or later. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

Expat, a C library for parsing XML documents, has a security update addressing two vulnerabilities: a denial of service caused by an integer overflow in the expat_realloc function (CVE-2026-102633) and an information disclosure via a heap buffer over-read in XML_ParseBuffer (CVE-2026-77214). These issues affect versions prior to 2.5.0-6.el8_10. Red Hat has released a patched version 2.5.0-6.el8_10 to mitigate these vulnerabilities.
