Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-80352 is a code injection vulnerability in Apache Camel K caused by improper control of code generation, specifically a YAML injection in custom resource configurations. This allows an authorized custom resource author to inject arbitrary Kubernetes objects, which can result in unauthorized resource creation with the privileges of the operator. The vulnerability affects Apache Camel K versions from 2.0.0 up to but not including 2.9.3 and from 2.10.1 up to but not including 2.10.2. The issue is fixed in versions 2.9.3, 2.10.2, and 2.11.0.

Potential Impact

An attacker with authorization to create custom resources can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary Kubernetes objects, potentially leading to unauthorized resource creation with elevated privileges of the operator. This could allow privilege escalation or unauthorized actions within the Kubernetes cluster managed by Apache Camel K.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade Apache Camel K to versions 2.9.3, 2.10.2, or 2.11.0, which contain fixes for this vulnerability. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated in the available data.
