Improper Input Validation vulnerability in Apache ActiveMQ Broker, Apache ActiveMQ, Apache ActiveMQ All. (CVE-2026-49434)
Description
An improper input validation vulnerability exists in Apache ActiveMQ Broker and Apache ActiveMQ versions before 5.19.8 and from 6.0.0 before 6.2.7. An attacker with the ability to publish or modify LDAP entries matching the configured searchBase and searchFilter can instantiate denied transports inside the broker JVM, potentially spawning a second BrokerService within the same JVM. This vulnerability is fixed in versions 5.19.8 and 6.2.7.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-49434 describes an improper input validation vulnerability in Apache ActiveMQ Broker and Apache ActiveMQ. The flaw allows an attacker who can publish or modify LDAP entries that match the broker's configured searchBase and searchFilter to instantiate transports that are normally denied within the broker JVM. This can lead to fetching an attacker-controlled URL and spawning a second BrokerService inside the same JVM process. The vulnerability affects Apache ActiveMQ Broker and Apache ActiveMQ versions before 5.19.8 and from 6.0.0 before 6.2.7. The issue is resolved by upgrading to versions 5.19.8 or 6.2.7.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows an attacker with LDAP publish or modification privileges to instantiate unauthorized transports inside the broker JVM, which can lead to spawning a second BrokerService. This could impact the integrity of the broker service by enabling unauthorized components to run within the JVM. The CVSS score is 7.5 (medium severity) with no confidentiality or availability impact but high integrity impact.
Mitigation Recommendations
Users should upgrade Apache ActiveMQ Broker and Apache ActiveMQ to version 5.19.8 or 6.2.7 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory.
