Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's wifi cfg80211 component was resolved involving the cfg80211_merge_profile() function. The function failed to advance loop variables properly when reassembling a Multi-BSSID non-transmitted BSS profile, causing repeated processing of the same data. This flaw could cause the kernel to spend excessive time processing specially crafted malicious beacons, potentially leading to a denial of service through resource exhaustion.
