Description

In versions below 2.5.3 of the Azure AD Graph app for Splunk SOAR, a vulnerability exists where a user with permission to run actions can see a sensitive password in cleartext. This occurs because the reset password action's temp_password parameter is not masked in the user interface, leading to information disclosure. The app fails to mark this parameter as a password, exposing the temporary password to authorized users who run the action.

Technical Analysis

The Azure AD Graph app for Splunk SOAR versions prior to 2.5.3 contain an information disclosure vulnerability (CVE-2026-76377). A user with a role that allows running actions can invoke the reset password action and view the temporary password in cleartext because the temp_password parameter is not masked in the UI. This is due to the app not designating the parameter as a password field, resulting in sensitive information being exposed to users with action execution privileges.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows users with permission to run actions to view sensitive temporary passwords in cleartext within the user interface. This could lead to unauthorized access if such users misuse the exposed password. However, the impact is limited to information disclosure without integrity or availability impact, and requires the user to have specific permissions.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in version 2.5.3 of the Azure AD Graph app for Splunk SOAR. Users should upgrade to version 2.5.3 or later to ensure the temp_password parameter is properly masked. No other mitigation steps are indicated.
