Technical Analysis

The TOTOLINK T6 device running firmware 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 contains an access control vulnerability in the setWiFiGuestCfg function. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this by sending specially crafted POST requests to the /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi CGI endpoint, enabling them to modify guest Wi-Fi configurations. This could allow attackers to establish guest wireless access or weaken existing guest network security controls.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthorized modification of guest wireless access settings, potentially enabling attackers to gain unauthorized network access or degrade guest network security. No evidence of active exploitation in the wild is reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the device management interface and monitor for suspicious POST requests targeting /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi.
