AI-suggested
Upgrade Kubeflow Pipelines API server to version 2.18.0 or later, which includes authorization checks requiring the readLog permission and pod-run label verification. Until upgrading, restrict access to the backend log endpoint to trusted users only. Ensure Kubernetes roles grant the readLog verb on runs in the pipelines.kubeflow.org API group as per the fix. External authentication and network policies should be enforced to limit backend access.
Description
Kubeflow Pipelines API server contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in the run-log endpoint, allowing unauthorized users who can access the backend and know a run ID to read logs of that run or unrelated pods in the same namespace. This can expose sensitive workload data or credentials. The issue affects versions through 2.17.3 and is fixed in version 2.18.0.
