Until a fix is available, users should avoid opening untrusted .cgns or .adf files with vulnerable versions of libcgns.
Description
Libcgns versions up to 4.5.2 contain a stack out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the function ADFI_read_node_header. This flaw can be triggered by supplying specially crafted ADF node headers in .cgns or .adf files, causing the ADFI_stridx_c function to read beyond the intended buffer and crash applications such as cgnslist. The vulnerability has a low severity rating and does not impact confidentiality or integrity, only availability.
