Until an official fix is available, avoid processing certificates with long extension OIDs that could trigger this vulnerability.
Description
Crypt::OpenSSL::X509 versions before 2.1.3 for Perl contain a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability caused by handling long certificate extension OIDs improperly. The vulnerability arises because the code uses the full length of the OID as the hash key length, which can exceed the fixed buffer size of 129 bytes, leading to a read beyond allocated heap memory. This affects functions that build the extension hash using long OIDs but not those using short names. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 9.1, indicating high severity.
