AI-suggested

A fixed version of libheif is available starting from version 1.23.3. Users and administrators should upgrade to libheif 1.23.3 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No vendor advisory or patch link was provided in the input, but the version range indicates the fix is included in 1.23.3. Until upgrading, avoid processing untrusted HEIF files.

Description

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in libheif versions 1.18.0 up to but not including 1.23.3 in the function unc_decoder_mixed_interleave::processTile(). This flaw allows attackers to write out of bounds by crafting HEIF files with chroma components of unequal bit depths, potentially leading to code execution during image processing.
