Description

LibreNMS versions prior to 26.9.0 have a path traversal vulnerability in the nfsen_channel_common.inc.php file. This flaw allows authenticated users to read unauthorized RRD data by injecting '../' sequences into the channel parameter. Exploiting this, attackers with access to one NFSen-enabled device can view traffic and NetFlow graphs of devices outside their authorized scope. The vulnerability has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 4.3.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in LibreNMS before version 26.9.0 is a path traversal issue located in nfsen_channel_common.inc.php. Authenticated users can manipulate the channel parameter by injecting directory traversal sequences ('../') to access RRD data files they are not authorized to read. This enables attackers to request graph.php with a crafted channel value and retrieve traffic and NetFlow graphs of devices beyond their permitted access boundaries.

Potential Impact

An attacker with valid authentication can read unauthorized RRD data files, potentially exposing network traffic and NetFlow graph information of devices outside their authorized scope. This leads to information disclosure but does not affect integrity or availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in LibreNMS version 26.9.0. Users should upgrade to version 26.9.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. Since no vendor advisory or patch link is provided, verify the upgrade availability from official LibreNMS sources.
