Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-109204 describes an improper authorization vulnerability in LogicalDOC Community Edition versions up to 9.3. The PswRecovery servlet does not properly bind password recovery tickets to the requesting user, enabling attackers to reuse a ticket issued for their own account with arbitrary user IDs. This allows attackers to reset passwords of other users, including administrators, causing account lockouts and revealing email addresses.
Potential Impact
An attacker with low privileges can reset passwords of other users, including administrators, leading to denial of access for legitimate users and exposure of email addresses. This impacts confidentiality, integrity, and availability of user accounts within the affected LogicalDOC installations.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the password recovery functionality and monitor for suspicious activity related to password resets.
