Metabase 0.61.0 - Authenticated Remote Code Execution
Description
Metabase versions 0.58.0 up to but not including 0.58.15, 0.59.0 up to but not including 0.59.12, 0.60.0 up to but not including 0.60.6.3, and 0.61.0 up to but not including 0.61.1.4 contain an authenticated remote code execution vulnerability. This flaw allows an attacker with valid authentication to execute arbitrary code on the affected system remotely.

Technical Analysis
An authenticated remote code execution vulnerability exists in Metabase versions >=0.58.0 <0.58.15, >=0.59.0 <0.59.12, >=0.60.0 <0.60.6.3, and >=0.61.0 <0.61.1.4. An attacker who has authenticated access can exploit this vulnerability to run arbitrary code remotely on the system running the vulnerable Metabase instance.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability enables an attacker with valid credentials to execute arbitrary code remotely, potentially leading to full system compromise depending on the privileges of the Metabase process. This poses a critical risk to confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict authenticated access to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity related to Metabase instances.
