AI-suggested

A fix is available in MIME::Parser version 5.521. Users should upgrade to version 5.521 or later to address this vulnerability. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated.

Description

MIME::Parser versions before 5.521 for Perl are vulnerable to memory exhaustion caused by indented error messages generated from a truncated, deeply nested MIME message. The parser logs errors at each nesting level with increasing indentation, causing the stored diagnostics to grow quadratically with the nesting depth. There is no default limit on nesting depth, which can lead to excessive memory consumption.
